NUSRL Ranchi Marks 17th Foundation Day with Grandeur
Supreme Court Justice Urges Students to Overcome Prejudices
Ranchi: National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, celebrated its 17th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm, marking nearly two decades of excellence in legal education.
The event was graced by Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah as the Chief Guest, along with distinguished dignitaries including Justice Mahesh Sharadchandra Sonak, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, and Rajiv Ranjan.

“Your Only Competition is Yourself” – Justice Amanullah
Justice Amanullah was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour and a traditional welcome by the university community.
In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of ethics and objectivity in the legal profession. He advised students:
“Do not compete with others; your only competition is the person you were yesterday.”
He also conducted an engaging Q&A session, guiding students on overcoming biases and navigating ethical challenges in legal practice.

Law as a Social Responsibility
Justice Mahesh Sharadchandra Sonak highlighted the deeper purpose of legal education, stating:
“Law is not merely a career; it is a profound social responsibility.”
He urged students to avoid shortcuts and uphold integrity, while also acknowledging the contributions of former Vice-Chancellors and faculty members in building the institution.

Launch of ‘Cyber Safe & Resilient Jharkhand’
In a major step toward digital security, the university’s Center of Excellence for Cyber Law and AI (CAGE), in collaboration with Cyber Peace Foundation, launched the “Cyber Safe and Resilient Jharkhand” initiative.
Key highlights of the initiative:
- Free online certification program
- Creation of Cyber First Responders across Jharkhand
- Focus on combating rising digital threats and enhancing cyber awareness

Academic Excellence & Scholarships
Vice-Chancellor Ashok R. Patil presented the annual report, highlighting achievements in research and social outreach through the Legal Aid Programme.
Key Achievements:
- 🎓 Merit scholarships awarded to 18 students (BBA LL.B & LL.M)
- 🏅 35+ students honoured for national and international achievements

Grand Finale of ‘Avirbhaav 6.0’ & Sports Tournament
The university’s flagship cultural fest ‘Avirbhaav 6.0’ and the K.N. Prasad Memorial Sports Tournament concluded with vibrant participation from institutions across India.

- 🎤 Open Mic & Poetry: Winners from Army Institute of Law Mohali
- 🌍 MUN: Top honours secured by JVM Shyamli and Delhi Public School Ranchi
- 🏏 Cricket Final: NUSRL defeated Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DPSMU)
