Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dr. Patangrao Kadam Brought a Revolution in Education – Dr. Vivek Savji

Dr. Patangrao Kadam, through Bharati Vidyapeeth, brought a transformative revolution in the field of education by promoting a student-centric learning approach, said Dr. Vivek Savji, Vice-Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).

He was speaking at an homage programme organised at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Central Office on the occasion of the 82nd birth anniversary of Dr. Patangrao Kadam, Founder Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth. The event also marked the release of the special birth anniversary issue of ‘Vichar Bharati’, dedicated to Dr. Kadam.

Dr. Savji described Dr. Patangrao Kadam as a visionary who transformed ambition and determination into reality. “He was truly a phenomenon who continuously elevated the growth graph of Bharati Vidyapeeth and ensured its sustained progress,” he said. Highlighting present-day challenges, Dr. Savji emphasized the need to be prepared for rapid technological changes, evolving educational ecosystems, intensifying global competition, and the increasing pace of obsolescence.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Milind Joshi, Editor of Vichar Bharati, said that Dr. Patangrao Kadam had personally experienced the struggles faced by students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. “With a resolve that future generations should not face similar hardships, he established Bharati Vidyapeeth to take the light of education to the last mile of society,” he said. He added that over the past 61 years, Bharati Vidyapeeth has made significant contributions to education, healthcare, social, cultural, and economic development of the nation. “Dr. Kadam not only built institutions, he built people,” Prof. Joshi remarked.

The programme was attended by Registrar G. Jayakumar, CA B. B. Kad, Vasantrao Mane, faculty members, officers, staff, and students. Dr. Appasaheb Patil conducted the proceedings. Similar homage programmes were held at Dhankawadi and Erandwane educational campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth.
