IIT Bombay to Host ‘Conclave on AI for Science’
Ahead of India–AI Impact Summit 2026

CMInDS and BharatGen, on behalf of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, will co-host a full-day Pre-Summit Conclave as part of the India–AI Impact Summit 2026. The conclave is being organized for the Science Working Group, co-chaired by Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

The Conclave on AI for Science aims to serve as a high-level platform bringing together senior policymakers, scientific leaders, academic researchers, industry experts, and international collaborators to deliberate on the future of AI-enabled scientific research.
National & International Policy Leadership to Participate
The conclave will witness participation from key national institutions including:
- Department of Science and Technology (DST)
- Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
- Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)
- Government of Maharashtra
In addition, members of international science working groups, along with academic and industry representatives from IIT Bombay and other institutions, will also take part in the discussions.
Focus on Transparent, Reproducible & Accessible AI-enabled Science
The conclave will feature:
- Invited keynote addresses
- High-level panel discussions
- Student poster presentation session
- Networking and collaborative dialogue opportunities
Key discussions will focus on:
- Strengthening inter-institutional and international collaboration
- Enhancing research capacity in AI for Science
- Advancing transparent, reproducible, and accessible AI-driven scientific research
- Aligning national AI initiatives with global scientific standards and impact goals
