World Pharmacist Day Celebrated at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences
Faridkot : The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Faridkot, marked World Pharmacist Day with great enthusiasm on 25th September 2025. Celebrated every year on this day to commemorate the first meeting of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in 1912, this year’s theme was “Think Health, Think Pharmacist.”
To celebrate the occasion, the institute organized a variety of engaging events and competitions, including a Poster Competition, Working Model Competition, Drug Story Competition, and a fun-filled Lemon & Spoon Race. Students participated with high energy and showcased their creativity, innovation, and pharmaceutical knowledge.

Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, graced the event as Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the need for skill development, greater awareness of pharmacovigilance, and encouraged students to focus on research and development of new drugs to meet future healthcare challenges.
Institute Principal Dr. Viney Chawla emphasized the indispensable role of pharmacists in the healthcare ecosystem and elaborated on their diverse contributions in hospitals, pharmaceutical industries, and community health.
Winners of the various competitions were honored with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding performances.
The event was attended by faculty members including Dr. Pooja Chawla, Dr. Honey Goel, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Goyal, Dr. Monika, Dr. Vikas Gupta, Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur, Mr. Himanshu Jain, Ms. Kuljeet Kaur, and Ms. Gurpreet Kaur.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Monika, while Prof. Pooja Chawla proposed the vote of thanks, marking a successful and memorable celebration of the day dedicated to pharmacists worldwide.
