Pondicherry University Community College NSS Celebrates Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanthi
Kalapet : The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Pondicherry University Community College organized a solemn and spirited celebration to commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice.

The event was presided over by Prof Lalitha Ramakrishnan, Principal of the Community College, who delivered the Presidential Address. In her address, she highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s immense contribution to nation-building, education, and empowerment of the marginalized sections of society.
A Special Address was delivered by Dr M Vijayakumar, Librarian, Pondicherry University. He emphasized Dr Ambedkar’s intellectual legacy and his pivotal role in shaping modern India through knowledge, law, and reform.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Suresh Kumar, NSS Programme Officer, who also facilitated the smooth conduct of the event. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and students, reflecting a collective respect for Dr Ambedkar’s ideals.
The event concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony, where all attendees reaffirmed their commitment to uphold equality, fraternity, and justice—values championed by Dr Ambedkar. A floral tribute was then paid to honor his enduring legacy.
