IUST Hosts Health Screening and Awareness Camp on Non-Communicable Diseases
Jammu-kashmir / Pulwama /Awantipora : The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) recently organized a comprehensive two-day health screening and awareness camp in collaboration with its University Health Centre. The initiative, part of the IUST-PURSE project, aimed at raising awareness about non-communicable diseases (NCDs) while assessing their prevalence among the university’s employees, students, and scholars.
The camp saw active participation from a diverse group of individuals, including faculty members, non-teaching staff, security personnel, students, and scholars. Over the course of the two days, participants underwent screening procedures, provided blood samples, and received health education focused on the prevention and management of NCDs.
This event underscores IUST’s ongoing commitment to promoting health awareness and fostering a culture of preventive healthcare. Through collaborative efforts, the initiative sought to equip the university community with essential knowledge and tools to combat the growing challenges of non-communicable diseases.
