BHU’s MCA Alumni Donate to Establish New Scholarship

Alumni from the 1997-2001 batches meet Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain and pledge support for university’s growth

Varanasi: A delegation of MCA alumni from Banaras Hindu University’s 1997-2001 batches has made a generous donation of Rs. 5 lakh to establish a new scholarship for Computer Science students. The alumni met with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain on Thursday, where they presented the donation cheque. This contribution is aimed at supporting students pursuing studies in Computer Science at the university.

During the meeting, the alumni fondly reminisced about their time at BHU and shared valuable suggestions for the university’s growth and the development of its students. They expressed their commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the university, offering their support in areas where they could make a significant impact. The alumni praised the “Pratidana” initiative launched by Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain, noting that it has played a pivotal role in strengthening the bond between the alumni and their alma mater. They reiterated their continued support for the university’s progress, willing to contribute wherever needed.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain shared updates with the alumni on the strides made by the university in student development. He highlighted the university’s efforts in imparting leadership and life skills training to students, aimed at preparing them for future career challenges. He emphasized that the positive transformation of students was clearly evident in their personalities and work approaches. Prof. Jain also spoke about BHU’s steady progress in building capacity and creating new opportunities for students. He encouraged the alumni to stay connected with BHU, stressing that their experience and expertise could provide immense value to the university. He also invited them to visit the campus regularly to help strengthen their bond with the institution.

The meeting was also attended by Finance Officer Manoj Pandey and Prof. Ramesh Chand, Adviser (Alumni Relations).
