IISc & Henry Royce Institute Announce Strategic Bioprinting Partnership

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Henry Royce Institute, University of Manchester, have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish a major international partnership in 3D bioprinting, biofabrication, and materials science. The collaboration aims to accelerate innovation in healthcare, precision medicine, and sustainable bio-manufacturing, under the UK–India Technology Security Initiative (TSI).
The partnership unites leading experts in bioprinting, biomaterials, engineering biology, microfluidics, and advanced manufacturing to develop next-generation biomaterials, medical implants, organoid models, and translational healthcare technologies. Clinical adoption and commercialisation of bioprinting solutions are core goals.
