Workshop on “Pioneering Advances in NLP & Generative AI” at NSUT
New Delhi : The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Dwarka, New Delhi, inaugurated its Five-Day Workshop/FDP on “Pioneering Advances in NLP and Generative AI” today, marking a significant step towards enhancing expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The workshop is set to provide attendees with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in these rapidly evolving fields.
The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, attended by distinguished guests including Prof. Anand Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of NSUT; Prof. Karmeshu, Guest of Honour; Prof. M.P.S. Bhatia, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT); Prof. Vijay Gupta, Dean of Research; and Prof. Sushama Nagpal, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
In his inaugural address, Prof. Anand Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of NSUT, highlighted the transformative potential of AI technologies, especially NLP and Generative AI, in reshaping industries and academic research. He emphasized how these technologies are revolutionizing personalized experiences, workflow optimization, and data-driven decision-making. Prof. Srivastava encouraged participants to actively engage in the sessions, as these advances will be critical in solving real-world problems and enhancing innovation in the tech industry.
The Guest of Honour, Prof. Karmeshu, delivered an insightful talk on “Diffusion Models for NLP”, a groundbreaking area in NLP that is helping to improve the understanding of language through AI. Prof. Karmeshu’s session focused on the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of diffusion models, providing valuable insights into their role in the evolution of AI-driven language understanding.
The workshop convenor, Dr. Poonam Rani, along with co-convenors Dr. Savita Yadav and Dr. Vandana Bhatia, welcomed the participants and outlined the importance of this workshop in bridging the gap between academia and industry. Dr. Rani emphasized that the workshop would provide attendees with a deep dive into the latest advancements in NLP and Generative AI, featuring hands-on sessions and interactive discussions led by renowned experts in the field.
