Veer Narmad Gujarat University Launches Helmet Campaign to Promote Road Safety
Surat : In response to the Gujarat Government’s directive on mandatory helmet usage, Veer Narmad Gujarat University has launched a comprehensive campaign aimed at promoting road safety among its officers, employees, and students. The campaign is in alignment with the Gujarat Police’s letter No. 186/STB/RB/F.NO./Traffic Rules-Implementation/Helmet/1058/2024 dated 18th November 2024, which stresses the importance of wearing helmets for all individuals using two-wheelers.
The campaign was officially inaugurated at the main gate of the university by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kishore Singh N. Chavda, who was accompanied by Registrar Dr. R. C. Gadhvi and Security Officer Shri Mehulbhai Modi. Together, they addressed the university community, emphasizing the critical need for helmets as a safety measure for both students and staff traveling on two-wheelers.
Dr. Chavda, in his address, explained the safety benefits of wearing helmets, highlighting that it is not only a legal requirement but also an essential protective measure to prevent serious injuries in case of accidents. The university’s initiative is set to encourage all members of the university, including students, staff, and employees, to adopt this precautionary measure without exception.
The campaign is a part of Veer Narmad Gujarat University’s commitment to promoting a culture of safety and responsibility, in line with state-level traffic safety regulations. With the active involvement of university officials and support from the Gujarat Police, the university aims to create awareness and ensure that everyone adheres to this important rule.
