Valedictory Function Concludes Research Methodology Course at Pondicherry University
Puducherry : The Centre for Study of Social Inclusion (CSSI), under the School of Social Sciences & International Studies at Pondicherry University, in collaboration with the Institute for Educational and Developmental Studies (IEDS) and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, successfully concluded a 10-Day National Research Methodology Course for research scholars in the social sciences.
The valedictory function marked the culmination of this intensive academic endeavor and brought together distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and vibrant research participants. The program began with the University Anthem, followed by a welcome address from Dr. A. Chidambaram, Head of CSSI, who emphasized the importance of inclusive and critical research methodologies in the evolving academic landscape.

Dr. G. Prabakaran, Course Director and Assistant Professor at CSSI, presented a detailed course report highlighting the structure, sessions, and learning outcomes of the 10-day program. The course provided young researchers with a solid foundation in methodological tools and analytical frameworks, crucial for conducting impactful and socially relevant research.
In her felicitation address, Prof. G. Chandrika, Dean, School of Social Sciences & International Studies, commended the organizers for their thoughtful execution and urged scholars to uphold the values of rigorous and purpose-driven research.
Delivering the special address, Prof. Rajneesh Bhutani, Registrar (i/c), underscored the value of multidisciplinary and decolonized research perspectives, advocating for the integration of indigenous knowledge systems into academic inquiry.
The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University, who congratulated both participants and organizers. He reaffirmed the pivotal role of social science research in addressing contemporary societal challenges and shaping progressive policy.
Participants shared enthusiastic feedback, appreciating the quality of sessions, expert resource persons, and practical relevance of the course. Certificates were distributed by the Vice Chancellor and Co-Course Director Dr. Anish Gupta.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. G. Prabakaran and the National Anthem, bringing an enriching academic experience to a close.
