University of Hyderabad Hosts Distinguished Lecture on Cancer Prevention
Hyderabad : The University of Hyderabad, under its Institute of Eminence (IoE) programme, hosted a distinguished lecture by Prof. Raghu Kalluri, Chairman of Cancer Biology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, at the School of Life Sciences Auditorium.
The event was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. B. J. Rao and attended by faculty, researchers, and students.

Prof. Kalluri delivered a talk titled “Cancer Without Disease: Healthy Living, Aging & Prevention Strategies,” explaining how cellular damage, genetic mutations, and immune function influence cancer development over decades. He emphasized that strong immunity and healthy aging mechanisms can prevent malignant transformation, noting that many people harbor “silent, contained cancers” that never become clinically active.
