Tezpur University Signs MoU with Far Eastern Federal University of Russia
Tezpur (Assam) | September 4, 2025 – Tezpur University has entered into an international collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), Vladivostok, Russia on September 3, 2025. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

The MoU was formally inked by Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor, Tezpur University, and Prof. Evgeny E. Vlasov, Vice President for International Relations, FEFU, in the presence of Prof. Subhrangshu Sekhar Sarkar, Director, International Affairs, Tezpur University.
Founded in 1899, FEFU is one of Russia’s leading public universities, offering programs across medicine, engineering, humanities, and natural sciences.
🔑 Key Areas of Collaboration under the MoU:
- Development of joint dual degree programs in Construction and Civil Engineering
- Collaborative research in Civil Engineering, Construction, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence
- Exchange programs for students and faculty
- Joint research projects, conferences, and cultural programs
- Field visits and other mutually agreed academic activities
The agreement will remain effective for five years.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh highlighted Russia’s engineering resilience and India’s strength in large-scale project execution, describing the partnership as a unique opportunity to nurture a new generation of engineers who are “innovative and practical, strategic and adaptable.”
He further added that this collaboration would give Tezpur University students exposure to diverse educational ecosystems and research cultures, enabling them to respond more effectively to complex global challenges.
