‘Swadeshi Sankalp Run’ Organized at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University

On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, celebrated as National Youth Day, a Swadeshi Sankalp Run was successfully organized on January 12, 2026. The program was jointly planned by Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, New Delhi and the University Grants Commission (UGC), and implemented through the combined efforts of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat and STERS–SASCMA College, Piplod, Surat.
The primary objective of the run was to instill the values of Swadeshi spirit, self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat), physical fitness, and nation building among youth
The program was graced by the presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor of VNSGU Dr. Kishore Singh N. Chavdaji, Registrar Dr. Rameshdan C. Gadhviji, Co-Regional Contact President of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (Western Region) Shri Ishwar Sajjanbhai, along with members of various college management committees.

The event commenced with an oath-taking ceremony followed by spirited chanting of “Jai Jai Swadeshi”, as participants pledged to adopt indigenous practices. The Swadeshi Resolution Run began from SASCMA College campus, Kargil, and proceeded up to Chowk, Piplod, where participants paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs.
A large number of students and faculty members from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, C.K. Pithawala College, SDJ International College, Agarwal Vidya Vihar English Medium College, and Dr. Patel & R.B. Patel Commerce College participated enthusiastically in the run.

After the completion of the procession, all participants returned to the campus, where the celebrations concluded with traditional Garba performances, symbolizing unity, culture, and collective energy. The program ended with a vote of thanks to all organizers, dignitaries, volunteers, and participants for making the event a grand success.
