NSUT Concludes Five-Day FDP on Innovation and Entrepreneurship with Grand Success

New Delhi : The five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” organized by AICTE-MIC at the main campus of Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), concluded successfully.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, making the program even more special. During the program, in-depth discussions were held on various technological and academic topics. Experienced speakers shared their insights on key aspects of education, research, and innovation. Special emphasis was placed on advanced technologies, industry-academia collaboration, and the pivotal role of educators, providing participants with new knowledge and practical perspectives.

The closing session was presided over by Prof Prerna Gaur, Director of West Campus, NSUT, who was the chief guest. She highlighted that the Delhi Government has provided an opportunity to establish an Incubation Cell at NSUT, which was initiated in 2016 and continues to function successfully. She proudly mentioned that five startups from this incubation centre have reached the charted level.

A special guest at the event was Abhishek Ranjan Kumar, Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He emphasized the importance of institutional patenting, stating that innovation cannot progress without the support of institutional stakeholders and students. He also revealed that plans are being formulated to promote institutional patenting, with a target of filing 200 patents initially and establishing a mechanism to cover examination fees.

The event was also attended by Prof Sushma Nagpal, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Prof M P S Bhatia, Dean of FICT, and Prof Shampa Chakraverty, whose participation played a crucial role in the program’s success. At the end of the program, certificates were distributed to all 50 participants, recognizing their dedication to innovation and entrepreneurship. Additionally, members of the organizing committee, including Dr Gaurav Singhal, Dr Vipin Pal, Dr Abhinav Tomar, and Dr Surendra Nagar, were honoured for their outstanding contributions.

The event concluded with a spirit of gratitude, inspiration, and innovation, laying a strong foundation for transforming academic research into impactful entrepreneurship, which will guide significant developments in the future.
