MNLU Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Organizes Legal Aid Camp
Focus on Domestic Violence, Child Marriage Prevention, and Gender Equality
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : The Legal Aid Cell of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, successfully organized a Legal Aid Camp at Bidkin village to promote legal awareness among rural citizens.

The camp highlighted key issues such as:
- Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
- Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006
- Gender Equality and Women’s Rights
A street play performed by 30 MNLU students effectively showcased the harmful impact of domestic violence and child marriage. Selected real-life cases were also discussed to help villagers understand legal remedies and protections available under the law.

The camp was coordinated by Ms. Amruta Chavan (Asst. Professor of Law) with support from Mr. Deepak Hud (Office Staff), under the able guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bindu S. Ronald and Prof. Dr. Dhanaji Jadhav (Registrar).
The programme was chaired by Mr. Ashok Dharme, Sarpanch of Bidkin Gram Panchayat, and received enthusiastic participation from school students, women, and local villagers, who expressed gratitude for the informative initiative.

The Legal Aid Cell aims to continue such outreach programmes to empower rural communities with knowledge of their legal rights and protections.
