IIT Delhi Names Exhibition Hall After Alumnus Binny Bansal

New Delhi :The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced that the Exhibition Hall at its main campus will now be known as the “Binny Bansal Exhibition Hall”, in honour of its distinguished alumnus Mr. Binny Bansal, co-founder of India’s leading e-commerce company Flipkart.

The decision recognizes the largest-ever unrestricted individual donation made to IIT Delhi by an alumnus, contributed by Mr. Bansal through the IIT Delhi Endowment Fund.

The naming proposal was approved by the Board for Educational and Research Planning (BERP) on the recommendation of the Institute’s Naming Committee. The Exhibition Hall is located on the ground floor of the Main Building at IIT Delhi and serves as a central venue for:

  • Academic and research showcases
  • Innovation expos
  • Student project exhibitions
  • Major institutional events

The renamed hall will stand as a visible symbol of alumni leadership, philanthropy, and commitment to institutional excellence.


Announcement Made at Alumni Mixer in Singapore

The announcement was formally made by Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi, during an Alumni Mixer held in Singapore, attended by prominent alumni, entrepreneurs, and global donors.
