HORIBA India Partners with IIT Delhi to Support Three Cutting-Edge Research Projects
New Delhi, May 2025: HORIBA India, a subsidiary of the Japan-based HORIBA Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Delhi to support three innovative technical development projects under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The collaborative research efforts include:
- Development of a Low-Cost, High-Torque Density EV Motor using reduced rare-earth magnets.
- 3D Printing of Smart Fabrics and Innovative Design Prototypes.
- Development of an Intermediate-Temperature Proton-Conducting Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (H-SOEC) for green hydrogen generation.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations at IIT Delhi, and Dr. Rajeev Gautam, Senior Corporate Officer at HORIBA Ltd. and President of HORIBA India. The signing ceremony also included faculty members leading the respective projects.
Dr. Gautam highlighted that the partnership reflects HORIBA India’s commitment to advancing technological innovation and skill development in India under its CSR theme “Together We Grow”. Prof. Panda acknowledged HORIBA India’s continued support, particularly in empowering students through modern equipment and inclusive education initiatives.
HORIBA India operates across three core sectors—Energy and Environment, Bio and Healthcare, and Materials and Semiconductor—and views this collaboration as a step forward in fostering indigenous technological growth.
