HNLU Announces International Certificate Programme on Sustainable Trade and Environmental Governance
Raipur : Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, through its Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies, School of Law and Technology (SLT), is excited to announce the launch of its International Certificate Programme on Sustainable Trade and Environmental Governance, scheduled to take place from May 5-12, 2025. This one-week programme, conducted online, is a collaborative effort with esteemed partners, including:
- The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India
- WTO Chairs Programme
- Economic Laws Practice (ELP)
About the Programme
The relationship between international trade and environmental governance has never been more crucial as global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss continue to evolve. This interdisciplinary programme seeks to explore the dynamic intersections of trade policies and sustainable development principles.
In collaboration with leading experts and institutions, this certificate programme will cover key topics such as:
- Balancing trade liberalization and environmental protection
- The transition to circular and blue economies
- Sustainable trade practices, including non-plastic policies
- Analysis of international agreements like GATT, CITES, and the WTO Fisheries Subsidies Agreement
- Regional innovations, such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

Evaluation and Certification

Successful participants will receive an e-certificate from HNLU Raipur with their final grade based on the evaluation.
