University clarifies governance, faculty appointments, fee structure and student support mechanisms

Ahmedabad : Gujarat University has firmly reiterated its unwavering commitment to quality, transparency, accountability and compliance with UGC and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 norms in the conduct of its Self-Financed (HPP / Safe Finance) courses.

The University clarified that all Safe Finance courses have been run directly by Gujarat University since 2023, marking a significant shift from earlier academic partner–led operations. This transition has resulted in enhanced academic quality, stronger governance, greater transparency and institutional accountability.

Strong Governance & Statutory Oversight

Gujarat University follows a robust governance structure comprising senior and independent members, including:

The Vice-Chancellor (Chairman)
Former Judges of the High Court or Supreme Court
Retired General Managers of nationalized or Public Sector Banks
Independent Chartered Accountants with no prior audit or non-audit association with the University
Registrar of the University
Finance & Accounts Officer
Senior academicians from Tier-1 management institutions

Judges and committee members are paid honorariums strictly as per UGC norms, reinforcing the integrity of the evaluation and oversight process.

Faculty Appointments as per UGC & NEP 2020

The University categorically stated that all faculty appointments are made strictly in accordance with UGC and NEP-2020 norms, with no relaxation despite the courses being run under the Higher Payment Programme (HPP).

Visiting faculty from industry are also appointed strictly as per higher education norms, ensuring students gain real-world exposure and industry-aligned learning.

Fee Structure Approved by Government-Regulated FRC

The Fee Structure is approved by the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC), Government of Gujarat
As per Gujarat University Resolution No. R/1184/2025 dated 09/04/2025, there has been no fee increase since 2017
Earlier academic partners retained nearly 70% of the fees, whereas now 30% of fees are directly deposited into the University account, supporting institutional growth, infrastructure development and academic sustainability

Gujarat University reaffirmed that:
