Exposure Visit Programme for CBSE Principals organized at UoH
Hyderabad : In line with the National Education Policy 2020’s vision of integrating skill education from Class 6 onwards, the Department of Education and Education Technology (DoEET), School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH), in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, organized a 2-Day Exposure Visit Program for CBSE Principals on May 30-31, 2025.


The program was designed to empower school leaders with innovative practices, advanced institutional facilities, and collaborative opportunities to integrate vocational education into mainstream schooling. This initiative also significantly supports the National Mentoring Mission, empowering principals to mentor teachers and foster local educator networks.
The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr Ravula Krishnaiah, Programme Coordinator, who introduced the vision and objectives of the exposure visit.
Prof Madhusudan J V head department of education and education technology emphasized the role of school leaders in transforming education and highlighted CBSE’s initiative to provide professional exposure to principals. He thanked CBSE Directors and the University for their active collaboration in organizing the programme. He also informed participants about the scheduled visit to BioNEST (School of Life Sciences) to showcase vocational education and entrepreneurship innovations.
Prof K Sunita Rani, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, delivered an address highlighting the structure and accomplishments of the school. She elaborated that the School comprises five departments, eight centres, 77 faculty members, and over 800 students, maintaining a commendable faculty-student ratio of 1:70.
Prof B J Rao, Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, delivered an inspiring address to the participants, referring to them as the “critical vantage point gatekeepers of society.” He described UoH as the “lung space of the city” and a research-intensive institution committed to knowledge creation and dissemination. The VC emphasized the importance of student-centric teaching, fostering curiosity, and the need to empower slow learners.
He urged participants to make sessions interactive, encouraging them to raise questions and engage meaningfully. The VC concluded by acknowledging the role of school leaders as nation-builders beyond their professional obligations. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Ravula Krishnaiah, followed by a felicitation ceremony for the distinguished guests.
The orientation sessions on Day 1 of the Exposure Visit Programme for CBSE Principals provided a comprehensive academic experience rooted in policy, innovation, and leadership. Prof K Sunita Rani set the tone with a session on Value-Based Education. She emphasized embedding values and ethical leadership in the schooling system. Prof B Rajashekhar followed with insights on Skill Education and NEP 2020, stressing the need to integrate 21st-century skills, entrepreneurship, and vocational pathways to align education with contemporary employment demands.
The programme will continue with enriching sessions led by senior faculty from other departments. Prof Ramesh Kumar Mishra, Dean of the School of Medical Sciences, will be discussing neurocognitive aspects of learning, while Prof. Appa Rao Podile, J C Bose Fellow and former Vice-Chancellor of UoH, will emphasize the role of scientific thinking and innovation in school leadership. The day will conclude with a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the valuable contributions of all speakers and participants.
