Dr. Rameshwar Singh Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by AMI

Bathinda, Talwandi Sabo : The Vice-Chancellor of Guru Kashi University (GKU), Prof. (Dr.) Rameshwar Singh, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of microbiology and dairy technology.

Prof. Dr. Singh has previously served in several prestigious positions, including Vice-Chancellor of Bihar Animal Science University, Patna; Registrar of the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal; and Project Director (Microbiology) at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. He is widely acknowledged as a renowned expert in Dairy Technology.

The award was conferred for his significant research contributions in developing superior bacterial strains, which have helped improve the quality, taste, and health benefits of yogurt, as well as for promoting health-enhancing probiotic bacterial strains.

The award ceremony was held during a special function organised by AMI at Dev Bhumi University, Dehradun (Uttarakhand). The honour included a citation, certificate of appreciation, shawl, and a cash token.

Congratulating Prof. Dr. Singh, GKU Chancellor Sardar Gurlabh Singh Sidhu said that the recognition is a matter of immense pride and honour for Guru Kashi University.

Expressing gratitude, Dr. Rameshwar Singh dedicated the award to his colleagues, co-researchers, and students, stating that the recognition has further motivated him to work with greater enthusiasm and inspire others to strive for excellence in research and academics.
