CU Kashmir Rajbhasha Cell Launches Training Programme on Rajbhasha
Four-day programme aims to strengthen practical use of Hindi in official work among non-teaching staff
Ganderbal : The Rajbhasha Cell of the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) inaugurated a four-day Training (Personal Contact) Programme on Rajbhasha on Tuesday, with the objective of strengthening the practical use of Hindi in official work across university administration.
The programme is specifically designed for the non-teaching and administrative staff of the University enrolled in various Hindi proficiency courses—Prabodh, Praveen, Pragya and Parangat—conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Government of India.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rameshvar Lal Meena, Assistant Director, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, who served as the Chief Guest and Resource Person. Appreciating the efforts of the Central University of Kashmir, Dr. Meena elaborated on the constitutional provisions, rules and guidelines related to the use of Hindi in official work. He also shared practical insights to facilitate its effective implementation in day-to-day administrative functioning.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar, CUKashmir, reaffirmed the University’s commitment to promoting Hindi in official communication. He assured full administrative support for the systematic and effective implementation of Rajbhasha. He further informed that Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath is keen on strengthening the use of Rajbhasha as well as the Kashmiri language within the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Bhat, University Librarian, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and capacity-building initiatives for university staff. He noted that practical proficiency in Hindi enhances professional competence and enables staff to efficiently handle official correspondence in line with government norms.
Dr. Arif Khan, Finance Officer, highlighted the importance of sincerity, ethics and discipline in official functioning. He stressed that developing critical and positive thinking among employees is essential for improving institutional efficiency and service delivery.
Earlier, welcoming the participants, Dr. Sakina Akhter, Hindi Adhikari and Programme Coordinator, stated that the training programme is designed to provide hands-on exposure to Hindi usage in official correspondence, drafting, noting and routine administrative work. She presented an overview of the programme objectives and outlined the structure of the sessions planned over the four days.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Registrar, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons and participants for their active participation.
