BFUHS Welcomes 2025 with Enthusiastic Celebrations and Visionary Leadership
Faridkot : Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) kicked off the New Year 2025 with a grand celebration at the Auditorium, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot. The special event, held under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rajeev Sood, saw active participation from the university’s office bearers, Heads of Departments (HoDs), faculty members, and staff.


The gathering was graced by prominent figures including Dr R K Gorea (Registrar), Dr Rajiv Joshi, Dr Rohit Chopra (Additional Registrar and Controller of Examinations), Dr Sanjay Gupta (Principal, GGS Medical College), and Dr Neetu Kukkar (Medical Superintendent, GGS Medical College).
In his address, Prof Dr Rajeev Sood reflected on the university’s remarkable accomplishments in 2024, including receiving the prestigious International Green University Award and being named Asia’s Best Educational Institution. He also emphasized BFUHS’s significant contributions to initiatives such as the Hub and Spoke Model of Skill Development, health education, blood donation drives, and environmental conservation efforts.
Prof Dr Sood took the opportunity to share his vision for the future, stating, “First and foremost, we must think about the progress of our country, followed by the advancement of our institution, and lastly, our personal growth. The progress of our nation is our real progress.” He further added, “Teamwork and struggle are the keys to BFUHS’s success. Only by becoming a leader among all can these goals be achieved.”
The event concluded with a sense of optimism, marking a fresh and enthusiastic start to the New Year. The celebration underscored the university’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare education, research, and services, while reinforcing its vision of excellence and community engagement in the years to come.
