BFUHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rajeev Sood Honored with Chancellor’s Distinguished Leadership Award
Faridkot : Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rajeev Sood, of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), has been conferred with the prestigious Chancellor’s Distinguished Leadership Award by Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh. The award was presented in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of Medical Education and Research at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of the university, held on February 14, 2025.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rajeev Sood, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (Punjab), is a combination of an astute administrator and a passionate researcher—a true doctor with more than 45 years of extensive experience in academics and research. He is also a recipient of several national and international awards, further solidifying his stature in the medical and academic community. Additionally, Dr Sood has been conferred with the S Lal Singh Oration Award at the 28th Punjab Science Congress, held in February 2025.
The convocation, conducted in a blended mode, witnessed the participation of over 1,500 graduates, who were awarded degrees and medals for their academic achievements. The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, academicians, and thought leaders from various fields. The Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr Zora Singh, formally presented the award to Dr Sood, acknowledging his transformative leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and remarkable initiatives in advancing healthcare education. The award was conferred upon Dr Sood on the recommendation of the Governing Body of Desh Bhagat University, recognizing his exceptional contributions to medical sciences.
