Assam Skill University Hosts Dynamic Industry–Academia Meet on “Decoding the DNA of Future Talent”

Guwahati, The Department of Applied Management at Assam Skill University (ASU) successfully conducted a forward-thinking Industry–Academia Meet on May 16, 2025, at Radisson Blu Hotel, Guwahati, centered around the theme “Decoding the DNA of Future Talent: Skills, Attitude, and Knowledge.”

Designed as an interactive, workshop-style brainstorming event, the meet brought together 45 industry leaders and professionals from diverse sectors including Healthcare, IT, Banking, Insurance, Oil & Gas, Telecom, Retail, Automobile, and Aviation. The initiative aimed to align MBA curriculum design with real-world industry expectations, ensuring 60% practical and hands-on learning in ASU’s management programs.


Leadership and Vision

The event began with registration and informal networking, followed by an inaugural address by ASU’s Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Shri Subhash Chandra Das, IAS (Retd.), and Registrar.
Prof. Chandana Goswami, Head of the Department of Applied Management, presented a compelling overview of the MBA program’s structure and its mission to bridge the gap between academic frameworks and industry needs.


Engaged, Collaborative Dialogue

Participants were organized into seven roundtable Focus Group Discussions, each led by an academic or industry expert. Topics ranged from technical and soft skills development, digital readiness, and employability traits, to the integration of new-age technologies into academic delivery.

A keynote address by Shri Ashok Das, former Director (HR), OIL India Ltd., added valuable insight, shedding light on the existing skill gaps and highlighting industry expectations from future management graduates.
