Explores Future-Ready Partnerships

Hyderabad : The University of Hyderabad (UoH) welcomed an 11-member delegation from the State of Alabama, USA, to explore collaborations in future-ready education, STEM research, and transnational academic programs. The visit focused on strengthening global partnerships and advancing workforce development in line with Alabama’s vision for international cooperation.

Vice Chancellor Prof. B.J. Rao briefed the delegation on UoH’s innovation-driven academic programs, integrated research strengths, and existing global collaborations. Prof. Bramanandam Manavathi, Director, Office for International Affairs, highlighted the university’s commitment to internationalization and expressed keen interest in forging partnerships with Alabama universities, including joint and dual degree programs through formal MoUs.

Representing the delegation, Dr. Eric Mackay, State Superintendent of the Alabama State Department of Education, delivered a presentation outlining opportunities for student exchanges, joint degrees, and research collaborations.

Detailed discussions with UoH school heads covered key areas such as:

  • Alabama’s education and workforce development vision
  • International collaboration for future-ready education
  • Opportunities in joint/dual degrees, certifications, and offshore programs
  • Faculty and research partnerships in STEM and applied sciences
  • Addressing Alabama’s STEM educator needs

A seminar for UoH students followed, showcasing international education and workforce opportunities.

Coordinated by the Office of International Affairs, the visit marked a significant step toward long-term partnerships fostering innovation, academic excellence, and global engagement.
