ABVP’s 60th West Maharashtra Provincial Conference Concludes
Nashik | January 2026:
The 60th Diamond Jubilee Provincial Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), West Maharashtra Province, concluded successfully in an enthusiastic and ideologically vibrant atmosphere from 3 to 5 January 2026 at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Nagar, Dongre Hostel Ground, Nashik.
The conference was inaugurated on 3 January by P. P. Jitendranath Maharaj, in the presence of Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Hon. Girish Mahajan. The three-day event featured a series of ideological, organisational, and informational sessions aimed at student empowerment and nation-building.

Key Ideological Sessions
Prominent intellectual sessions included:
- “Constitution @ 75: Indian Perspective” by Organiser Editor Prafull Ketkar, who highlighted that the Indian Constitution is deeply rooted in Indian culture and traditions.
- “Self-Awareness (Swabodh)” address by Gitesh Chavan, Regional Organising Secretary of ABVP.
- “Role of Youth in a Developed India” by Shri Sumant Amshekar, Regional Pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Exhibition Highlighting Tribal Life and ABVP’s Journey
A special exhibition titled Late Ravindra Sahasrabuddhe Exhibition showcased tribal life and ABVP’s educational, social, and organisational journey. The exhibition was inaugurated by renowned entrepreneur Vaibhav Joshi and Prof. Jogendra Singh Bisen, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University.
Four Major Resolutions Passed
The conference unanimously passed four important resolutions:
- Opposition to irregular academic calendars and “Carry On” policies adopted by state universities due to their long-term adverse impact on students.
- Gen Z as protectors of national interest and cultural values, emphasizing social transformation through Pancha Parivartan.
- Sustainable development of Nashik, preserving Kumbh traditions while promoting IT parks and educational advancement.
- Rising screen time as a serious challenge to youth health, promoting the concept of Screen Time to Activity Time in daily life.
Educational Awareness Sessions
Informational sessions educated students on:
- University governance structures
- Private university systems
- Indian Higher Education Commission
- Fee Regulation Committees
- Scholarships and fellowships
Grand Procession and Public Meeting
A grand procession through central Nashik received an overwhelming response, with welcome ceremonies at 35 locations by institutions, organisations, and citizens. The procession concluded with a public meeting addressing:
- Contribution of tribal communities to nation-building
- Women-centric discourse
- Rising atrocities against Bangladeshi Hindus and illegal infiltration
- Environmental concerns, Kumbh Mela planning, and educational issues in Maharashtra
Future Roadmap and Conclusion
Atharva Kulkarni, West Maharashtra Provincial Minister, presented the roadmap for the next six months. The conference concluded with an address by Meet Thakkar, Provincial Organising Secretary, who expressed confidence that the conference would energise ABVP’s future initiatives.

- 74 branches
- 154 colleges
