ABV-IIITM Gwalior Celebrates Its 28th Foundation Day

Gwalior : Atal Bihari Vajpayee–Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior celebrated its 28th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and dignity, marking a proud reflection on the institute’s academic journey since its establishment in 1997. The programme was presided over by the Director of the Institute, Prof. Shri Nivas Singh, and witnessed the participation of faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and their families.
The celebration commenced at 5:30 PM with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Prof. Karunesh Kumar Shukla, Director, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. This was followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a welcome programme before Maa Saraswati, held in the presence of Prof. Shri Nivas Singh, Mrs. Vandana Singh, Deans, faculty members, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Director Prof. Shri Nivas Singh highlighted the institute’s visionary foundation, consistent academic growth, achievements in research and innovation, and its contribution to nation-building. He emphasized that the true strength of ABV-IIITM lies in its teachers, staff, students, and alumni.
The programme featured vibrant cultural performances by students, including a musical band presentation, classical solo dance, and western dance performances by first-year students.
During the ceremony, faculty members were honoured for their exceptional contributions. The awards were announced by Dean (Academic Affairs) Prof. Pankaj Srivastava. Prof. Anurag Srivastava received the ABV–Research Excellence Award 2025, Prof. Joydeep Dhar was conferred with the Atal Outstanding Teacher Award, and Dr. Pinku Ranjan received the Atal Young Faculty Award. These honours recognized excellence in teaching, research, institutional service, and social contributions.
The series of cultural programmes continued with an impactful Nukkad Natak, a classical group dance, and a western group dance performed by second-year students.
The highlight of the evening was the inspiring address by the Chief Guest Prof. Karunesh Kumar Shukla, who appreciated the continuous progress of ABV-IIITM and encouraged students to pursue research, innovation, and ethical leadership.
The Director presented a memento to the Chief Guest, and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Assistant Registrar Ms. Niharika. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, reaffirming the institute’s collective resolve to move forward with confidence toward a brighter future.
