A Training of Trainers Program Was Conducted at GGSMCH Faridkot

Faridkot : A training of trainers under IAP NRP FGM program was conducted at GGSMCH Faridkot under the auspices of BFUHS and aegis and sponsorship of IAP The chief guest for the occasion was worthy Vice Chancellor BFUHS, Prof Dr Rajeev Sood. He was accompanied by Registrar Dr R K Goria, Dean Dr Deepak Bhatti, Principal and Medical Superintendent GGSMCH, Faridkot, Dr Sanjay Gupta and Dr Neetu Kukar.

Faculty from outside the institute included Dr Lalan Bharti, president elect 2026 NNF and zonal coordinator for the training and state coordinator for the training Dr Anuradha Bansal. In house faculty comprised of Dr Shashikant Dhir, HOD pediatrics and Dr Amanpreet Sethi. Dr Gurmeet Sethi, professor pediatrics was also present on the occassion. On this occasion in his speech worthy vice chancellor sir stressed upon the need of enhancing skill based teaching methodology and reiterated the stand of BFUHS in further enhancing any skill based training program in health care.

This project of IAP aims at reduction of Neonatal mortality in India and bringing it down to single digit from a present of double digit per 1000 live births in our country. About 28 people comprising, doctors and nursing teachers from varied institutes like GGSMCH, SINPMS Badal, University college of nursing Goindwal, UCON Faridkot, Dashmesh College of Nursing, Faridkot, Armed Forces Medical Services from Amritsar and Ferozepur, Civil hospital Tarn Taran, PGIMER Chandigarh, GMC Amritsar were trained as trainers.

These trainers will further uphold the baton of training more in achieving the goal of reduction in Neonatal mortality.
