Goa Multi-Faculty College held a quiz competition on the topic “Goa – A Tourist’s Paradise”

Dharbandora : Yuva Tourism Club of SPES’s Goa Multi-Faculty College in association with the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) organized an All Goa Inter-Higher Secondary School Quiz Competition on the topic “Goa – A Tourist Paradise” recently at the Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda, Goa. All together twenty-seven teams across Goa participated the competition which was conducted by Mr Nagesh Sardesai.

The event was graced by Dr Ganesh Gaonkar, Chairman, GTDC and Mr Deepak Narvekar, General Manager, GTDC. In his address, Chief Guest Dr Ganesh Gaonkar exhorted the students to become Yuva Tourism brand ambassadors and help to broaden Goa’s tourism landscape in Goa. He further informed that the Dudhsagar waterfall trek would commence shortly once the related work is completed. Guest of Honour, Deepak Narvekar commended the college for organizing the the event and stated that it would help students to understand various tourism features in Goa.

Earlier,  Prof Shaikh M Parvez Al-Usmani, Principal, welcomed the gathering and stated that the students would gain insight into Goa’s tourism sector, thereby help in promoting the same. The 1st prize of Rs. 10,000/- was secured by Smt Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik Higher Secondary School, Curchorem, while Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School, Cujira got the 2nd prize of Rs. 7,500/-, whereas 3rd prize of Rs. 5,000/- was won by Loyola Higher Secondary School, Margao, and 4th prize of Rs. 2,500/- was bagged by St Andrew’s Higher Secondary School, Vasco.

On the occasion, prizes for the All-Goa Inter-Higher Secondary School Reel-Making Competition organized by the college towards the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were distributed. Amey Bhosle of Harmal Panchakroshi Higher Secondary School, Harmal bagged 1st place, 2nd prize was secured by Mr Rhitvik Kambli, St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa, Mr Ratish Malkarnekar from Shree Ameya Vidhyaprasarak Mandel, Curti Ponda was judged for 3rd position while 1st consolation prize was awarded to Mr. Vedant Haldankar of Smt. Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik Higher Secondary School, Curchorem and the 2nd consolation prize was secured by Survi Chari of Our Lady of the Rosary Higher Secondary Dona Paula-Goa.
