Veer Narmad Dakshin Gujarat University Celebrates Smit Mordia’s Victory at World University Shooting Championship-2024
Surat : Veer Narmad Dakshin Gujarat University is beaming with pride as one of its bright students, Mr. Smit Rameshbhai Mordia, has brought home remarkable achievements from the World University Shooting Championship-2024. Held at the Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Faridabad (New Delhi) from November 9 to 13, 2024, Smit participated in the prestigious competition representing Chauhan Arts and Commerce College, Vyara, an affiliated college of the university.
Smit Mordia earned a gold medal in the 10m air rifle team event and a silver medal in the individual event, showcasing his exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. His accomplishments have not only elevated the reputation of Veer Narmad Dakshin Gujarat University but have also brought immense pride to the entire state of Gujarat in the international sports arena.
In recognition of his outstanding achievement, the university organized a felicitation ceremony on November 18, 2024, at the office of the Hon’ble Chancellor. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Kishore Singh N. Chavda Sahib, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University, Dr. Rameshdan Gadhvi, General Secretary, Dr. Prakash Chandra Patel, OSD of Youth Welfare and Physical Education Department, Pri. Dr. Hitendra Singh Kharwasia, Smit’s parents, and his coach Binal Patel.
Smit was honored with a book and a sash for bringing international recognition to the university through his stellar performance.
